Lynott wrote "Military Man", and he sings vocals on "Military Man" and "Out In The Fields" - the rest of the vocals on the album are done by Gary Moore and bassist Glenn Hughes (formerly of Deep Purple). As you would almost expect from Phil Lynott, both songs have a social message to them, about war and death but they still rock - quite hard/5().

Feb 24,  · Released in and often considered his breakthrough album, Run For Cover features collaborations with Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple, Paul Thompson of Roxy Music and Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy/5(95).
  8. Nelkree says:
Run for Cover took the heavy metal ingredients of Gary Moore 's previous two albums and added a little pop refinement to the mix. Thankfully, this did not compromise the overall heaviness of the record, and Moore even achieves a successful remake of his classic ballad "Empty Rooms." Calling on his many friends to help in the studio, Moore obtains fantastic vocal performances from former Deep Purple bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes .
